West Nile virus

The West Nile virus is caused by the West Nile virus.
This virus can give you fever, headache, body aches, skin rash and swollen lymph glands. This virus causes in some cases death and in other cases major illnesses, and in a few cases minor illness.
This year (2012) it appears there is an increase in the number of cases being reported. According to the CDC there have been approximately 1100 cases reported to date. In 2011 there were approximately 700 cases reported and in 2010 about 1000 cases of West Nile Virus were reported.

The West Nile virus has pretty much spread through the whole United States.
There is no treatment now for the West Nile virus. The West Nile virus is spread through blood transfusion which is why most people get it from mosquitoes.
